Will my qualifications be recognised?
Australian Capital Training Institute is a registered training organisation with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Our training courses are nationally regonised in Australia.
Do you provide employment upon completion of courses?
ACTI does not provide you with employment upon completion of training. We can provide a reference for you only. We have close links with some employers and could refer you.
ACTI also offers a meet and greet night with employers and where possible we will connect you with an employer. This introduction does not guarantee a job.
I am currently working as a beauty therapist. Can I apply for Recognition of Prior Learning?

Do you offer online study?
Distance learning has elements of on-line study is offered for the theoretical components of the course. However, due to the practical nature of all of our courses students will need to attend campus to learn the practical elements of the course and demonstrate competency. Distance students will need to attend block practical training courses at ACTI premises.

Do you offer distance learning to international students?
Distance learning is not offered to international students due to government regulations for overseas students studying in Australia.
What is part-time study?
Part-time study options means you study for 8 hours per week. The Part-time training offered at ACTI may include a day during the working week or two evening classes. The day and nights vary depending on the number of part-time classes offered at the time of enrolment and trainer availability.
Can I defer my course?

How far away is Braddon?
Braddon is located in the centre of Canberra, close to shops, restaurants, cafes, and public transport.
Where can I stay while completing my studies with ACTI?
ACTI will not provide accommodation for international students. There are hotels and short-stay accommodation in Braddon, and across Canberra. Do you offer VET Loans?
Australian Capital Training Institute does not currently offer VET Student Loans, however we can point you in the direction of a range of financial institutions that offer student loans. Visit Funding and Fees section of the website for more information.
How much can I expect to be paid once I am qualified?
Qualified Diploma-level Beauty Therapists are paid under the Hair and Beauty Industry Award [MA000005]. The award wage for Beauty Therapists ranges between $45,000-65,000 per annum. Refer to www.fairwork.gov.au for more information.
