The Diploma of Leadership and Management is a fantastic place to start to get your skills and knowledge up to date. From there, there are multiple study options available in a leadership or management role – not just in the beauty industry. Want to own your own spa or lead a team of therapists? Or manage a busy cosmetic clinic or beauty salon? ACTI can take you there.
COURSE CONTENT
The BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management has 12 units of competency which are made up of 4 core units and 8 elective units. We’ve selected all the units you need to commence your career in a leadership and management role. This course covers leading and managing teams, communicating with influence, managing quality customer service, managing employee relations and more.
COURSE DELIVERY OPTIONS
This course is delivered face-to-face at ACTI in Canberra. Our facilities are state-of-the-art and specially designed to meet the needs of this course. Our specialised equipment, quality skin care and fully functional treatment rooms all contribute to ACTI’s second to none learning experience. ACTI offers Distance Education and Mixed Mode learning options for students.
Full Time: 3.5 days per week
Part Time: 2 evenings per week
Distance Education & Mixed Mode: theoretical learning to be completed at home with practical training at ACTI.
COURSE DURATION
We know that everyone’s schedules are different. ACTI’s course options allow flexibility to balance work, family and study commitments.
Full time and part time options are available. Study full time for 3.5 days per week for 11 months, or part time for 2 evenings per week for 18 months. While learning hands on in the classroom, you’ll also compete training in our Student Salon where you will gain real-life industry experience performing management and administration tasks. Enjoy the perks of school holiday breaks that align with the ACT school holidays.
STUDENT SALON
ACTI’s Student Salon is where you will practice and refine your skills for paying clients. You will be performing administration and reception tasks to ensure the salon runs smoothly. You’ll be providing services on a ‘not-for-profit’ basis and gain valuable experience treating real clients, while being guided by your educator.

No hidden expenses
Course fees at ACTI include everything you will need for your training course including uniforms, textbooks, learning materials and resources. Any additional expenses will be clearly outlined to you in your enrolment contract.

ACTI courses are in high-demand and spaces are limited. Our students must demonstrate that they hold a suitable level of language, learning and numeracy skills to complete this course.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE COURSE IS FULL?
We will put you straight onto the waiting list if this course is at capacity.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
You may be eligible to receive ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ (RPL) if you have previous work experience or training. This will allow you to be deemed competent in certain areas, which will exempt you from some elements of the course including assessments.
